Christmas 2008

I find that Christmas has more meaning now that I'm a mom. Watching Graden & Cael open their gifts, getting excited about the new book that plays music, ahhhing when the Christmas lights get turned on is so amazing when it's my kids doing it! I always loved Christmas growing up. My parents did a great job at making it exciting and creating traditions that I will never forget! There are so many traditions that I would love to continue with my kids along with the ones we are creating on our own.
This year Greg, Graden, Cael & I went to Upton. We went to church on Christmas Eve in Newcastle. The next morning we opened gifts... Greg and I were so happy watching the boys open their gifts that we didn't even notice that we hadn't opened any gifts. The last gift was a big gift that said "to: Mom & Dad from: Matt & Christine." Gary didn't want to open it since they weren't there, so he told Greg to open it, Greg didn't want to... so finally Cael opened it and it was a Flat Screen TV--- for Greg & I!!! What a great gift considering our TV is older than Greg and I!!! The boys big gift isn't here yet. They got Bunk-beds! Oh, I am really excited for them to go into big boy beds... but I'm also a little sad.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & has a Happy New Year!!!

Have a Blessed 2009 from Jessie, Greg, Cael & Graden!!!

12 Days Til' Christmas!

Happy December everyone.

Well, I am another year older... 27 years old now! I know that isn't old but it sounds funny when I say it and looks funny when I write it. Maybe because I don't feel that old, yeah Graden & Cael might be making me age a little faster, but I still feel 23! I had a wonderful birthday. Greg & I dropped the boys off at Grandma & Grandpa Glodt's house and we headed to Gillette for the night. Every year for the last 3 years Greg has taken me to this fancy, 5 course meal with wine and wonderful entertainment. Our friend Ivalene sings in the community Chamber Singers group & they sing Christmas songs and provided the entertainment while you enjoy your meal. It's a great time to spend with Greg and also my best friend Iva!

We are just getting over another round of sickness! The boys had a stomach bug over the weekend and Greg and I tried really hard not to get it too... well, so far Greg's doing good. I deffently got it and was miserable for 3 days. I'm just now getting my energy back after not being able to eat for 3 days! Since I was sick I miss a few Christmas parties, one was for my Girls Night Out group. It was our annual Cookie exchange night at Coco Palace (Sushi--love it!) but I deffently wasn't going to be eating that with a stomach flu!!! The other party was Greg's work part for the Silverado. He had to go alone... probably why he didn't win any prizes... he didn't have his good luck charm with him:] Ha!

I just can't believe this is going to be Graden & Caels second Christmas!!! It really makes me sad to think that they aren't my babies any more. But on the other hand I am so happy to see the little men they are becoming. They are so smart and have the most amazing personalities! They don't understand Christmas yet but do enjoy all the lights and Christmas music. Every day when we go to turn on the Christmas tree lights they just stop what they are doing, we count to three and I turn on the lights. Every time the let out a gasp, like they are so amazed at the lights! Oh, I just love it!!!

This year for Christmas we are going to be at Gary & Dee Ann's. We'll be able to head over to Upton on Christmas Eve, stay the night and spend Christmas there. We will miss Matt & Christine since they have decided to go get a tan... in Jamaica over Christmas! Those stinkers they better bring me back something good!!!

Since my parents don't live as close and it's more of a vacation to go see them we have decided to make it a vacation. We decided that after the holidays, in January, would be the best time to take time off. My parents just moved into a new home so this will be our first family get together in it. So far it's going to be the 4 of us, my parents, my sister & her boyfriend (no bodies met yet?!?), my Uncle Drew & Kim, ... and hopefully more!!!

Well, I think that about sums up the happenings around here. Oh, except for the HUGE blizzard that is supposed to hit us this Sunday... I'll let you know how that goes!

I hope everyone has a Happy & Healthy Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful & blessed Thanksgiving. Greg & I hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. Gary & Dee Ann, Matt & Christine and Willy & Tina were all able to join us.

This was my first Thanksgiving that I cooked everything! Believe it or not but it all turned out great. We all ate so much that we couldn't move... deffently fat & happy! Graden and Cael loved all the attention with having both sets of Grandparents here. They were being big show-offs, showing everyone all the new tricks they can do and making everyone laugh. Auntie Christine made sure they got their fill of Black Olives, she taught them to put them on their fingers and then eat them. So they would walk up to whoever was by the relish tray and stick their fingers out.

Dee Ann and Christine ended up staying the night at our house so they could go sh oping for Black Friday... at 5am!!! Maybe next year I can join them:]

My parents were able to stay for the whole weekend. The boys loved having them here to play with and spoil them. We went to Spearfish and played at the park on Friday. Then on Saturday Laurie & Chad came over and we went over to Rapid City, ate dinner and then we all went and watched the Light Parade. All the kids loved the lights but Graden & Brady didn't last very long. They both fell asleep about half way through. Cael was really into the lights and was pointing them out before they would get to us.

We had a busy but very fun Thanksgiving weekend. We are blessed to be able to spend it with the Family & Friends that we love so much!!!

The BIG snow!

Wednesday night it started snowing... and turned into a blizzard. This went on for two days & dumped record setting amounts in 24 hours. Greg made it up to work Wednesday night and didn't get back home until this morning at 2 am. Graden, Cael and I were stuck in our house the whole time. We are really luck we had enough food, diapers and milk. We are also luck we had power... majority of Sturgis and Whitewood lost their power. What an experience!

Halloween

For Halloween this year the boys were Firemen and I was a their fire dog, a Dalmatian. We went up to Deadwood with some of our friends, saw Greg, trick-0r-treated at the casinos, and then ate dinner at the Silverado. It was a great night. I can't wait for next year when the boys can get excited about dressing up and all the candy!

Trip East

Greg and I just got back from our trip to the East Coast. It was my first time that far east.

We went because Greg was a Groom's man for Glenn Ramero. Greg and I met Glenn our first year of college in Powell, Wy. Greg and Glenn were in music together and were also roommates their second year at college.

The wedding was held in Stonnington, CT at an old stone church. The reception was held at a winery and it was absolutely beautiful! We had a great time, got to eat a lot of yummy sea food, enjoyed visiting with everyone and meeting a lot of new people.

After the wedding we spent a few days being tourist in, and around Boston. We ate at some of the oldest restaurants in the U.S., we took a DUK tour with goes on land and in water and we walked around all of Boston.

Here are a few picture from our wonderful trip...

15 months

Tuesday the boys had their 15 month check up & shots. They had the last of their shots until they are 2!!! Yah!

Cael weighed- 25.6 lbs, height-32 inches

Graden weighed-25.1 lbs, height-32 inches

They are in the 50% for weight & 75% for height, the doctor predicts that they will be 6' + when they are full grown. Just like Greg:]

Greg & I have always thought that the boys are Fraternal twins. This is what our OB Doctor told us before we had them. Just because they had two separate placentas and two separate sacs. Which they still can be identical... it just depends on how early the egg splits. If it splits right away, they would have two separate everything. If the egg splits later there would be one placenta and two sacs, if it's even later then there is just one placenta and one sac. I didn't know all this until just recently. So Greg and I have been questioning this a lot lately. The boys still look soooo much alike, have the same facial features, eye color, hair color, both have wavy hair, they have always been the same size, and now they are getting the same teeth at the same time & in the same order! Graden & Cael also have the same blood type... so our doctor told us that he thinks they are identical. Our only way to know for sure now is to do Genetic testing. We are planning on having it do just so we can know and not question it any more. The only thing is it's a little pricey to have the test done.

Last weekend we went to Oahe Dam by Pierre SD. We got to hangout with family, play in the water & dirt. It was a great time... too short of a trip. Hopefully next year we can camp all weekend.

Tomorrow I am going to take the boys for their first & my first bike ride on the Mickelson Trail. We are going to ride 18 miles! Wish us well:] I'm just hoping it doesn't decide to rain.

Summer 2008

Wow, I can't believe that August is almost over... summer is almost over. It has deffently been a busy summer.
We started the summer off with Iva's wedding. It was at Ruby's garden in Spearfish. What a beautiful location and everything went so well.
Audie came and stayed with us the end of June. It was so nice to spend quality time with her since we only get to see each other a few times a year. She just lives too far away! Audie helped out with the boys, even watched them by herself a few times. She watched them one night so Greg and I could go out for our 4 year wedding anniversary. That was really great! Then the boys and I went back to lander with Audie for the 4th of July. I don't remember Lander being so loud on the 4th, probably because I was making a lot of noise along with everyone else. This year I had babies trying to take naps and sleep at night! We still had a great time even though there was a lack of sleep. The middle of July the boys and I went to Hoven, SD so we could see Great Grandma Helen. She hadn't seen them for awhile so we went and spent a few nights with her. The end of July was Erins wedding and I was a brides maide. She was absolutly beautiful! Then all of these motorcycles and vendors started showing up in Sturgis! Oh, yah... The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally!!! HA! This town just gets crazy... so the boys and I head to Lander for the week. Greg gets to stay and run the Silverado/ Franklin and make sure everything runs smoothly! He said this year was pretty quiet.
Now we've been enjoying some down time. We have had some friends over to play in our new sand box and BBQ. The nights have been just about perfect.

This Blog is longer than I planned, but I guess since it's my first one I should catch everyone up on what we've been doing.
